In-Formal Training
In-Formal Training
There are several types of training, categorized based on purpose, method, and target audience. Vocational training programs span a wide range of industries and skill levels, each designed to prepare learners for specific careers through hands-on, job-focused instruction.Informal training refers to unstructured, flexible learning that happens naturally through daily work activities, interactions, or self-directed efforts, rather than through planned, organized programs.
Key Characteristics of Informal Training:
✔ Unstructured: No formal curriculum, schedule, or trainer.
✔ Experience-Based: Learning occurs through observation, practice, and problem-solving.
✔ Self-Directed: The learner takes initiative to acquire skills or knowledge.
✔ Continuous: Happens anytime and anywhere, not limited to classrooms.
✔ No Formal Certification: Usually not officially recognized with certificates or degrees. However, some qualification awarding bodies as TTB Sindh opt for a system of recognition of vocational qualifications.
These systems are categorized as:
A: RPL
B: RPS (S-II)
Examples of Informal Training / learning:
Learning from a colleague or supervisor on the job
Watching tutorials or reading manuals online
Trial-and-error while performing tasks
Sharing knowledge during workplace discussions or meetings
Mentorship or peer (Ustad Shagird) learning sessions
